ARCHAEOLOGY OF WATER (2015)
This series of a few paintings is a brief extension to the previous works in Simple Harmonic Motion (2010) and Simple Harmonic Motion (2011-12) in terms of techniques and materials, but focuses on the poetic execution of minimalist images. The literary Chinese language has the most number of vocabularies describing water comparing to any other languages. The archaic Chinese painters and poets had shown for a long time an intense fascination on the nuances of water – be it the texture, tactility, movement, beauty or power. I am curious to explore such textures and movements through contemporary painterly vocabularies.
